“Friends” is such a weak description for the deep-rooted, profound nature of what we found in each other—a more accurate adjective would be soulmates.
“Having a soulmate is not always about love, you can find your soulmate in a friendship too.”
We have the Instagram universe and a mundane hashtag to thank for us “meeting” each other. It all began when Anna decided to start a resell page for 5 month old August’s clothes. At the time, Sonny was 4 months old, and probably the only time in their lives that he was smaller than August. Tara was one of the first people to stumble upon that page and we began sending direct messages from there.
Direct messages about baby clothes and brand repping turned into texting all day about anything and everything, then calling and just “hanging out” all day on the phone. We found inspiration in each other’s art, and came to love one another’s babies. As serendipity would have it, we came into each other’s lives at the perfect time. Many changes come with motherhood, and I think we were both searching for a kindred spirit even if we didn’t know it.
We eventually decided it wasn’t fair that we both lived halfway across the country from each other and that we needed to meet in real life. We believe there are no accidental meetings. It was in one word: surreal. The best depiction is the answer Tara gave when introducing Anna to her friends “Best friend? Nahhh. She’s my sister”
During this trip, we found ourselves enraptured by the beauty of several flower farms. With every flower farm we visited, our hearts felt full, full of hope and inspiration. It was here, that we brought to surface our shared goals in life and made a pact to make those dreams a reality, together. So we guess in a way, this post is our special announcement and an invitation to follow along in our journey to opening our own flower farm!
Although our story is still waiting to be written, we will continue to dream in flowers until we are surrounded by them forever.
