Scissors

A stick of your choice

Twine/ string

supplies

Step one:

cut a long piece of Twine and tie a knot at one end of your branch or dowel. Wrap the cording several times around the branch. Easy peasy.

Step two:

Hang your branch or dowel on the wall. Having it hanging makes it much easier to work on and determine the length you want. This one was actually suspended from the ceiling on two eye hooks.

Step three:

Pick which color yarn you would like to start with. Determine the length you would like your wall hanging to be and double that length.

Step four:

Tie your yarn onto the branch or dowel. Fold your first piece of yarn in half, wrap it around the branch and pull the ends through. Pull tight and secure it where you would like it. Repeat this pattern until you have worked all the way down your branch, switching colors as you go. This is the part where you get to be creative! We went minimal with only few muted pops of colors on the ends.

Step five:

Trim the ends! Here’s a fun tip, we used a piece of tape on the wall to get a straight line. You could also do a V shape or go zig zag if you would like! Possibilities are endless! We can’t wait to see what you came up with!
